Move your body - Week 9

My Mother

My Mother gave me comfort
And feed me everyday
They say be grateful you have mother
Cause mine was never there
My nana never seemed that bad
And neither did my papa
But i never really knew them well
Not as good as my mother

Poem

As the wind whistled past my ear
I looked in the distance
And stared at the figure
That I thought it went out of existence
But now I realise
As I gazed at its eyes
I took a step back
And jumped back in the car
Then drove silently away
Without even knowing
That it jumped in the back
And came home with me

Fernitickles - Podcast 2018

WALT: Connecting - I make sense of new information before, during and after reading by connecting it to myself, texts I know and my world

Task Description: For this task we had to do a audio recording about a book that we have been reading. The book at we had to read is a book that is written by a NZ author. The book that me and my partner read was a book called Fernitickles! Written by Mary Peace Finley and Illustrated by Anita Vink. The we had to write a script about the book and record it on Garage Band. After that we sent it to our drives and the published it on our blog. If you would like to please listen to the audio recording that me and my partner Chastyti recorded. Thank You!

Here's the script

Too tired

Image result for emoji facesThis morning I felt the feeling normal kids feel, tired. Waking up this morning felt impossible.  I repeatedly pressed snooze on my alarm and fell asleep. I regret doing that when it was 8:00.

I swung my legs off the bed and quickly got changed into my school uniform. For a minute i did think ‘I should just wag’ but my mum and dad wouldn’t be home today.  They were too busy sorting things out for the upcoming wedding for my uncle D.

I rushed out the door and hurried to school, then , something caught my eye. I slowed down and stared intently at the figure. “Hello!” I shouted as I walked closer.  In my mind I felt like this was a bad idea, but I didn’t care, it’s not like I was in a horror movie.”Hello!” I walked and reached out to see what it was then … I jumped back frightened. I then see a squirrel running past me towards the tree.

I feel stupid, Dumb, Immature. As if i was still a little kid, pretending to be movies. But I just shrugged it off, i was too tired to think about it. I just wanted to finish off the day so I could go back to my bed.

As the day came and went, I started to feel sleepier and sleepier as the days go by. And nearly everyday that memory pops in my head. And as each day pass, I realise … It wasn’t a squirrel.

Teachers go on strike

This Wednesday teachers all over New Zealand are going on strike. Why? Because they believe that they need more time to teach their students. Everyday teachers waste most of their time just writing about 10 reports on just ONE student, just imagine 31 kids. But this isn’t the only reason why teachers are going on strike. If you wanna know more just read on . . .

The 2nd reason why their going on strike is because they need resources for additional needs , meaning they are desperate to gather more resources for the children who have nothing. Or for example, there is one particular student who is mucking around while the teacher is trying to teach their class. This would annoy both the teacher and the students who are listening to instructions. With the resources they need they could help the student and continue teaching the rest of the class.

Lastly, nz teachers deserve more pay. Meaning Teachers should get paid more. All the teachers in new zealand spend majority of their time preparing for school, and they hardly ever have time for their family. And when they work from home they don’t get paid even if they spend like 2 hours working.

That’s all my opinions of why the teachers in nz go on strike. Thanks for reading :p
